The European Association of Geoscientists and Engineers (EAGE) together with the Institute of the Earth’s Crust SB RAS will organize a geological excursion within the GeoBaikal 2014 Conference. Participants will obtain a taste of the unique geological structure of the Western Baikal area, will learn about the history and development of the Baikal Lake origin, perceive interesting geological objects such as examples of folding and rupture zones as well as observe the results of ice and karstic activities. The high exposure level of geological formations will allow studying visually many interesting objects and soaking into the history of the geological structure of this ancient area.
