The 12th Meeting of the designated Russian and Mongolian government representatives on the Implementation of the Russian-Mongolian Agreement on Protection and Use of Transboundary Waters was held in Ulaanbaatar on October 28-30, 2015. One of the major topics of discussion therein was the state of ecosystem of the Selenga River.
Besides, the representatives of the ICC SB RAS signed a Protocol of Intentions with the Mongolian Academy of Sciences (MAS). The main goal of the Protocol is to promote cooperation between the two countries in the ?elds of science and technology. Among these are information and telecommunication technologies, geochemistry, geophysics, geodynamics, seismic safety, environmental audit, waste remediation, and others.
Along with the authorities and representatives of the ICC SB RAS, the members of the Irkutsk delegation included D.P. Gladkochub, Dr. Sci. (Geol.-Min.), Director of the Institute of the Earth’s Crust SB RAS, and the scientists from the Institute of System Dynamics and Management Theory SB RAS.
